Less than 5% of business professionals asked at the current year's Promotional Products Association tradeshow admitted to not using customized promotional gear at their own shows and events. Roughly 72 percent of respondents state that promo items are either "extremely effective" or "effective" in accomplishing their goals. There are many reasons to use imprinted merchandise and promotional product advertising, including: to increase name recognition, to increase booth traffic flow, to generate goodwill, to attract new customers and to generate interest in products. They continued by stating that imprinted merchandise was a very effective supplementary advertising device, to reinforce positive brand image, alongside tv and print mediums. The promo products helped to create at-home reminders, enhanced impressions of the brand/product and contributed to a consumer's intent to buy. Respondents to the survey stated that a custom promotional product was their second favorite source of information, after television. After a survey by Promotional Products Association International, the surprising truth is that a corporate gift program won twice as many customers over those who did not have such a benevolent program. So, the real question is not whether you'll use promo products, but rather which promotional merchandise you'll choose! The most successful promotional products are articles of clothing or other things potential customers can wear. (for example, a back-pack or a shirt). The second exciting splurge is any type of writing tools. (ten percent), with imprinted pens being the most notorized. What is better than to give someone something they will use every day at work? How many times has someone come to your desk and walked off with your pen? The gift that keeps on giving in utility and sales is promo pens. Branded calendars, water, food, key tags and stress relievers are also popular for promotional marketing. A sound implementation plan is essential, regardless of the exact imprinted item that you pick. Think about where your desired market hangs out; find brand ambassadors that fit your company's image and have a marketing manager train these people well. First impressions are of utmost importance - how the company and brand come across determines whether or not the product will earn a second glance. There is no room for second chances in the marketing industry, so give it 110% the first time and don't expect a couple of 10-cent promotional products to do all the work for you! The more you give, the more you get, plain and simple.
