Most Internet Marketers know this phrase like the back of their hands: The money is in the list. Many people in the IM niche think they need a huge list to make a decent amount of money online. This is a very common way of thinking and I'm certain it will pop up in your mind sooner or later. The biggest problem with this way of reasoning is that it stops people from building a list for their online business. People think they need a list of at least 10,000 or even 15,000 members before they can make a decent income. And when they realize that it's not going to be an easy task they simply stop trying to build a list. I can tell you right here and now that this is absolutely not true. There's a case study where an Internet Marketer with a small list of 1,236 members made a whopping $15,000 from that list. How in the world did he do that? How can you sell $15,000 worth of products to only 1,236 potential buyers? There are a few criteria that have to be met before you can make money like that. First of all, you need to have a close relationship with the members of your list. It means you'll have to earn their trust. Secondly, they have to be well informed about the available services and products on the Internet and they have to hear it from you. Last but not least they must be willing to buy an expensive item from you. In the case study I mentioned earlier the big ticket item was $1,000 a piece. So as a list owner he only needed to sell 15 copies of that item to make $15,000 gross. Since he was selling it as an affiliate, his take was probably around $7,500 (50%). That's still a lot of money for sending just one email to your list. Let's go back to the size of that list. Just 1,236 members, a little bit more then a 1,000 subscribers. Can I ask you a question: can you build a list of 10,000 subscribers? Not a very likely scenario if you're a new kid on the block. But can you build a list of 1,000 members? Or, to be a tiny bit bolder, say 1,500? Without any hesitation I dare to say that anyone can build a list of 1,000 subscribers. So how are we going to do that? You will have to build a squeeze page and put it on your website. Then you will have to drive visitors to the squeeze page and gobble up as many subscribers as you can. You can drive traffic to your lead capture page very fast with paid advertising, like Google Adwords. But if buying clicks is not a viable solution for you, you definitely should try article marketing. Suppose you write and submit one article a day, which is easy to achieve, and you do this like clockwork for at least a few months. For most people submitting the articles to the right directories is tedious and boring but you can spend your time more wisely and outsource this work to an article submission service. It might take some time to see any significant result with article marketing, as this method of driving traffic to your website needs some time to get into gear. But after a while these articles will pull in a flood of visitors to your site and you will see a constant stream of subscribers added to your list every day. I think you will agree with me that you don't need a huge list to make a nice income. But what are the possibilities with a huge list?. Think about it. If you can make $15,000 with 1,236 subscribers, how much would that be if you had a list of 10,000, 50,000 or even 100,000 members? And you know, you can pull this off with article marketing. Just keep writing those five articles a week for a whole year and you will see some amazing results. To put things in perspective, even the professional marketers of today started with their first visitor and making their first sale. It all begins with taking the first step. So why don't you get started today and build a huge list with article marketing?
